Colon Hydrotherapy - Colonic Irrigation

Contact Us We have three Registered General Nurses at the Buckingham Clinic who are all qualified Colon Hydrotherapists. Our clinic intrinsically insists that proper protocols and standards are put into place to protect the patient and therapist at all times which is why our therapists all have a clinical background.

The equipment used is entirely safe with a fresh disposable sterile speculum used with each patient seen, which rules out any risk of any cross infection.

Due to the huge demand for this treatment we are at present holding a waiting list for appointments.

Our treatment costs are as follows:

1st Consultation plus treatment= £65
Subsequent appointments= £55

Take a course of 4 treatments at £210 and save £20, if you require the further two treatments they would cost £45 each.

Take a course of 6 treatments at £300 and save £40 (Courses must be taken within 10 months of the first appointment)

Please Note: All bookings require a £30 deposit, which is non-refundable, you may of course change the booking for a more suitable time slot or, change to another therapy as long as we have prior notice of at least 24 hours.

APPOINTMENTS:

Monday10am - 8pm
Tuesday9am - 6pm
Wednesday10am - 8pm
Thursday9am - 8pm
Friday9am - 5pm
Saturday9am - 2pm

Please telephone the Clinic for an appointment, as we arrange these around availability in the diary. At present we have a waiting list of patients wishing an earlier appointment rather than their original booking, so book early with a fair idea of the day and time you wish.

On occasion we receive late cancellations and we will endeavour to call people who are on the waiting list to fill these times - but it is still wise to keep calling in case we can fit you into an available slot at the last minute.

We highly recommend taking the course, as this is when patients benefit most from the treatment. Waste deposits, which have built up throughout a lifetime, just cannot just be shifted in one, two or three treatments, that is why this recommendation is so significant. If you do choose a course, you have ten months in which to take your appointments, although we recommended that you take appointments weekly or fortnightly to achieve the optimum health benefits. On the other hand, you may feel you have a preference for just one or two treatments to kick start a diet or training regime – which is perfectly acceptable.

As our web-site suggests this therapy is extremely beneficial in the treatment of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), Chronic Constipation, Chronic Diarrhoea, Migraine Headaches, Halitosis, Asthma, Fatigue, Depression, Lethargy, M.E., Eczema and Acne and many more conditions too numerous to mention. Chronic constipation can lead to many direct conditions such as diverticulitis, rectal and colon prolapse, bloating and associated skin disorders, congestion of the liver and the cardiovascular system and even bowel cancer.

Schizophrenia is also a condition, which can at times benefit from colonics as it has often been linked to food intolerances and the build up of toxins within the colon.

Contra- indications to receiving this treatment are:
High blood pressure, Early pregnancy, Active Haemorrhoids, Patients receiving treatment for Cancer & Patients on Heart Medication or, if it was felt you had an eating disorder.

PRIOR TO TREATMENT:
Most patients have an improved result whilst attending for their 1st treatment, if, for a few days previous to the appointment you can hydrate yourself by drinking a small glass of water every hour and if possible, incorporate lots of fresh fruit and green leafy vegetables into your diet.

CONSULTATION:
The process begins with the patient completing a registration form which will ask about your past medical history and dietary history, (its best to come along 10minutes early for an appointment to complete this). The therapist would then discuss this information with you, but in specific your dietary habits, you would be encouraged to change certain aspects of your normal diet and be given information about the use of supplements which may be recommend whilst having colon Hydrotherapy and beyond.

TREATMENT:
The treatment itself should be pain free. Firstly we require the patient empty their bladder, we then ask that you strip from the waist down and alight onto a treatment couch, you will then cover yourself with a large bath-towel, (we do our utmost to keep your dignity intact at all times) the therapist will then palpate the tummy to find areas of tenderness, bloating, pockets of gas or waste build-up. There may also be an internal examination of the rectum to ensure there are no contra-indications.

A small disposable speculum (about the size of your thumb) is then gently inserted into the rectum using a water based lubricant, thereafter, warm water - heated to body temperature is fed through a filter system and allowed gravitationally, to gently flow into the rectum working its way into the colon, on the first occasion this sensation can feel a little strange, but should certainly not be sore or uncomfortable.

During the treatment the therapist will tell you what is happening, if you are unsure of anything during your procedure please, just ask. Treatment lasts approximately 30 to 35 min’s on the first occasion, subsequent treatments last 35 to 45mins.

In answer to a common question: YES you should definitely be able to go about your daily business after your treatment has finished.

Many of our patients feel fantastic having received anything between 4 to 6 treatments which, is why the Colon Hydrotherapy Association and The Buckingham Clinic recommend a course of 4 or 6 treatments be taken, as this is when your optimum health is achieved.

Please be aware that waste products which have built up over a lifetime cannot be shifted in just one or two treatments..! Specifically if you have a condition, which is causing you concern, although in the end, it is up to each individual patient to decide what they perceive to be best for them.

Please note: Our premises have been inspected and have met the standards set out in rules and code of ethics of The Register of Colon Hydrotherapists.
